Fundraising

If you would like to help out with our work in Navajo Nations, you can donate here.

Our Mission at Engineers Without Borders – Great Salt Lake Professionals (EWB-GSL; a local chapter of EWB-USA) is to provide a nonprofit humanitarian organization established to support community-driven development programs worldwide through partnerships that design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences that enrich global perspectives and create responsible leaders.  We have an enhanced vision of a world in which the communities we serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs. Today, more than two billion people lack access to the most basic things — clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, reliable passage to local markets and more.

Support for our local chapter will directly drive our Navajo Nation project.  The Navajo Nation is the size of New Jersey and is the largest reservation in both size and population. The focus of our program with the Navajo Nation is to provide sustainable housing and power generation for low income Navajo Elders.  Our organized trips to the Navajo Nation are supported through volunteers and collaboration with student chapters at USU, BYU, and U of U; as well as other 501(c)3 organizations like Design Build Bluff, Hearts and Hands in Action, Navajo Santa, and IINA Solutions. Many of the Navajo Elders live in off grid locations without power, sanitary sewer, or running water.  Because of their isolation the majority of these Elders may never have such amenities without our help. Our organization helps provide solar and wind power generation, sanitary septic systems, and culinary water supply.  Our sustainable engineering focus is provided through remote system monitoring that allows us to determine the efficiencies of our projects which lead to continual improvement.  As professional engineers we have the skills needed to design, engineer, and construct a better future for our Navajo neighbors.  Please support our efforts today so we can make a difference in these people’s lives forever!
